Immersive Training patterns

Multi person collaboration

Description

Training is not always an individual experience. Some tasks require teamwork and VR environment allow multiple users to experience the same simulation at the same time. At other times, the effectiveness of initial training can be improved by having the train go into the virtual environment with the trainee. This way they can guide them and point things out as they go.

Examples

Virtual avatars interacting with each other and passing objects to each other. Just the head and hands are visualised, these being the body parts that can be tracked by the VR system.

Here, the trainer guides the trainee and points to objects.

This one has higher fidelity avatars. The speech bubble indicates when that person is speaking. This helps as their lips don’t move and the direction of the sound may not be accurate enough.

Here, one avatar is able to sketch things that other collaborators can see
